§ 12-17. Posting of handbills without property owner's consent.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to post, paste, paint, mark, nail or otherwise fasten or append any advertisement, handbill, poster or notice of any kind upon any curbstone, sidewalk, tree, utility pole, or hydrant, or upon any billboard, wall, door, gate or fence within the city, without the written consent of the owner.

    (b)

    In addition to the penalty provided for in section 1-15, any person who violates this section shall be adjudged to pay the costs of tearing down or obliterating any notice, advertisement, handbill or poster put up contrary to the provisions of this section.
