§ 17-53. Time for completion of work.

  • All work authorized by a permit shall be commenced within a reasonable time after the issuance of the permit and shall be diligently and continuously performed until completion. If weather, process of law or any other unexpected obstacle causes work to be stopped for so long a time that public travel will be unreasonably obstructed, the director of public works may order the excavation refilled and repaved as if the work contemplated in the permit were actually completed.
