§ 17-103. Superintendent.

  • (a)

    The department of parks, library and recreation with the approval of the city manager, shall appoint a superintendent of the cemetery, whose duty it shall be to have charge of the cemetery and of the maintenance and improvement of the grounds. He shall have charge of all interments in the cemetery and keep a record of the interments, showing the exact location in the cemetery of the lot in which the remains of any deceased person have been deposited.

    (b)

    The superintendent shall require the exhibition to him of a properly executed burial permit, as required by the state, before allowing any interment to take place in the cemetery.

    (c)

    The superintendent shall enforce the provisions of this Code, including this chapter, and all rules and regulations adopted by the department of parks, library and recreation for the government of the cemetery.

    (d)

    The superintendent shall have charge of the digging of all graves in the cemetery.
