§ 21-68. Disconnection from private systems.

Latest version.
  • Whenever the city is capable of providing water service to any property within the city limits, then, at such time and thereafter, no person shall provide water to any such property by any private water system or any other water system other than the water system made available by the city. Any private water system previously serving the property shall be physically disconnected from the residence, building or structure, and no private water may be piped to the residence, building or structure thereafter. Noncompliance with this requirement shall be a violation of this section. This physical disconnection must be accomplished by a complete separation of the line between the residence, building or structure and the private water source. No valving system between a private water source and the city's water system shall be allowed. The installation, operation or maintenance of such a connection or valving system shall be a violation of this section.
