§ 2-206. Appointment; qualifications.

  • The municipal court shall be presided over by a municipal judge appointed by resolution of the council. Additional judges may be appointed as may be needed to transact the business of the court. Municipal judges shall be attorneys-at-law admitted to and currently licensed in the practice of law in the state. Municipal judges shall not be appointed for a specific term; their appointment to and dismissal from the position of municipal judge for the city shall be entirely at the will of council.
