§ 2-297. Same—Adoption.

  • The planning commission may adopt the comprehensive master plan provided for in section 2-296 as a whole by a single resolution or may, by successive resolutions, adopt successive parts of the plan, such parts corresponding with major geographical sections or divisions of the city or with functional subdivisions of the subject matter of the plan, and may adopt any amendment or extensions thereof or additions thereto. Before the adoption of the plan or any such part, amendment, extension or addition, the planning commission shall hold at least one (1) public hearing thereon. Notice of the time and place of the hearing shall be given by one (1) publication, at least fifteen (15) days prior to such hearing, in a newspaper of general circulation in the city and in the official newspaper of the county affected. The adoption of the plan or any part, amendment or extension or addition shall be by resolution of the planning commission carried by the affirmative vote of the majority of the entire membership of the planning commission. The resolution shall refer expressly to the maps and descriptive and other matter intended by the planning commission to form the whole or part of the plan, and the action taken shall be recorded on the map and plan and descriptive matter by the identifying signature of the chairman or secretary of the planning commission. An attested copy of the plan or part thereof shall be certified to the city council and, after approval by that body, shall be filed with the clerk and recorder of each county affected.

Ordinance No. 24-1995, adopted November 14, 1995, effective November 24, 1995, adopted the Sterling Area Land Use Plan in its entirety by reference and incorporated such herein as fully as if it were set out at length in said ordinance. A copy of such plan is on file with the county clerk and recorder, as well as in the office of the city clerk.
